JIMINI’S insect burger recipe

Today, we share with you the recipe of our insect burger ! A few days ago, Ikea imagined a future fast food menu with a burger patty made with insects. Not bad… But we got an early version in 2015 with our burger aux molitors, impressive isn’t it ?

Jimini’s home made insect burger recipe

For our insect burger recipe, the key ingredient is the insect patty!
Roll up your sleeves, we will give you our not so secret recipe. And for those of you, who are too excited to read (I see you!), we put the video at the end of the article 😉

Ingredients for 8 insect patties :
– 2 tablespoosn of olive oil
– 125g of chickpeas
– 125g of kidney beans
– 1/2 half red onion
– 1/2 cooked beet
– 1/2 carrot
– 1 garlic clove
– 40g of oats
– 30g of breadcrumb
– 30g of mealworms for cooking ORIGINE
– 1 egg
– 2 teaspoons of minced parsley
– 1 teaspoon of paprika
– 1 teaspoon of cumin
– 1 teaspoon of red pepper powder
– Salt and pepper

Turn the mealworms into powder.
Wash and grate the vegetables.
Cook all the vegetables for 5 minutes.
Mash the chickpeas and kidney beans with a fork.
Mix them with the vegetables, oats, breadcrumbs, egg and the mealworms.
In the end, add the spices.
You’ll only need to form patties in the shape you desire: oval, heart, cat…
Cook the patty 5 minutes on each side.

For the ingredients in your burger, unleash your creativity! Sky’s the limit… Cheese, tomato, avocado, salad…
