An original alternative to the good old beef or soy burger

We created Insteak® to revolutionize your meals and let you enjoy the environmental and nutritional benefits of edible insects. To do this, we’ve crafted delicious recipes combining two low-impact protein sources: Ténébrio Molitor mealworms and pea protein. The idea: to offer you a tasty, sustainable alternative to classic ground beef steaks and soy patties, which require substantial resources to produce.

Did you know, for example, that producing 1 kg of beef needs about 16 000 L of water? That’s worlds apart from the 800 L required for 1 kg of mealworms, or the 2 000 L needed for 1 kg of soy protein. If you’ve met us before (and if not—hello, nice to meet you ! ), you know we’re not trying to eliminate all meat or other protein sources from your fridge; we simply want to help you diversify your diet by gradually introducing more responsible—and equally delicious—protein options.

How to prepare your Insteak® patties and insectballs

It’s super easy. We designed Insteak® so you can shape it two ways: as a patty, like a traditional burger, or into meatballs. Once you open the pouch, just rehydrate the mix with hot water, then let it rest for about fifteen minutes to achieve the perfect texture. After that, get hands-on and form the mix as you like it. Thin or thick patties? Meatballs or insect “pearls”? Then it’s off to the pan for a quick 1 min 30 sec sear on each side—and you’re done. See? Not complicated at all, and it lets you customize your insect steaks endlessly: channel your inner chef and add pine nuts, garlic, or sun-dried tomatoes… Ready to eat—enjoy!

In a patty or a burger, falafel-style or as meatballs, you’re the chef

In the mood for a light, balanced dish? Our Insteak® patties pair perfectly with veggies or a salad and a drizzle of olive oil. For a heartier meal, build a gourmet homemade burger with a bakery bun, melting cheddar, crispy fried onions, tomato slices, and BBQ sauce. Craving something more exotic? Swap your usual falafel: stir fresh mint, cilantro, and parsley into your Insteak® mix before cooking. Voilà! Want comfort food? Make a homemade Bolognese sauce, replace the beef with small cooked Insteak® meatballs cut into cubes, and serve over pasta… Absolutely delicious!
